Slovak Society of Automotive Engineers

is an organization grouping engineers and technicians from the field of automotive and related industries, research and universities. It has more than 150 members.

It plays the role of active backing for the research, development, production and application of road and off-road motorcars, their parts and systems, including fuels.

History

The SAITS was founded on 1^st October 1993 in Bratislava. As the 27^th national organisation of automotive engineers and technicians, it was accepted to the World Federation of FISITA at the FISITA Council in Munich on the 19^th May 1994. Simultaneously it became a member of the European Association of FISITA Members – EAEC.

Aims of the SAITS

To mediate the world´s latest scientific and technology information and experience;

To prepare different specialised evaluations of technology for the industry, government and scientific community in the field of road transport and transportation;

To support safety and to solve questions of environmental protection as well as conservation of natural sources

To participate in harmonisation of regulations, specifications and other legislative questions in the industry.
